My Iconik Portal — Help

A quick guide to using the portal for reviewing footage.

Project navigation bar

The bar below the header shows the current sheet name highlighted in the navigation path. If you have access to more than one project, a Project dropdown appears on the right side of the bar to switch between them. If a project contains multiple sheets, a second Sheet dropdown appears alongside it.

Continuity Details panel (left)

The left panel shows the continuity spreadsheet. Each row represents a shot.

Clip Preview panel (right)

Clicking a row loads the proxy video from Iconik and plays it automatically. The bar below the video shows the clip's start timecode, frame rate, and resolution.

Use Open in Iconik ↗ (top right of the panel) to jump directly to the asset in the Iconik web app.

The panels can be resized — drag the vertical divider between the sheet and video panels, or the horizontal divider above the Metadata panel.

Making a select (I / O markers)

You can mark a range of the clip and post it as a confirmed select directly from the player:

The I and O keys work anywhere on the page — you do not need to click inside the video first. If you mark the out point before the in point, they are swapped automatically on submit. The player automatically releases focus when the video pauses, so the keys are always ready to use without any extra clicks.

CONFIRMED badge and Post Selects bar

If a clip has confirmed selects, a green Post Selects bar appears below the player. Each entry shows the reviewer's name, the timecode range, character seconds for that select, and the comment. A ● CONFIRMED badge is also shown in the info bar, and the summary line shows the total number of selects and combined character seconds for the clip.

Each select shows the name of the reviewer who made it. You can delete your own selects using the button on the right of each entry. Admins can delete any select.

Metadata panel (bottom)

When a row is selected, key columns from the spreadsheet are shown here. The left side shows Client Filename, Description, Director's Notes, and Post Comments (notes fields only appear when they contain content). The right side shows Preference, Character(s), Performer(s), and # of Characters. Drag the horizontal divider upward to give the panel more space.

Project budget

If a budget (in character seconds) has been configured for the project, a summary bar appears in the navigation bar showing the total budget, how many character seconds have been selected so far, and the remaining balance. The budget is shared across all sheets within a project.

Exporting selects

The Export Selects ↓ button in the navigation bar downloads a CSV of all confirmed selects for the current sheet. Each row includes the clip filename, character(s), performer(s), # of characters, in/out timecodes (at the correct frame rate for each clip), character seconds, the select comment, and the Post Comments field from the spreadsheet. Only selects that have a comment are included.
